Rising gas prices are on everyone’s minds these days. Here are some simple ways to stretch that tank of gas further and get the most miles for your buck while driving your kids around town.
Get together with other moms in your area at the beginning of the school year and create a rotating car pool schedule. It’ll give everyone a break, and save you time and money!
Save gas by turning off your engine while waiting for your child to finish school or soccer practice.
Reduce your speed and drive smoothly. Your car meets more wind resistance (and is less fuel efficient) the faster you drive, and speeding up or stopping abruptly wastes gas.
Don’t top off when filling up at the pump. This can cause spills and evaporation of fumes—wasting your hard-earned pennies!
Remove heavy items from your trunk. Strollers, bikes, and sports equipment add extra weight and mean
reduced fuel economy.
Combine smaller shopping trips into one outing to consume less gas. Plan ahead to try and reduce the number of stops you make, and buy in bulk to cut down on the frequency of trips.
